Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone - My Personal Review
I have been using the Nokia E63-2 for quite some time now and I love it. Just like any phone, it has a good and beautiful side BUT it also have some not-so-pleasant and sometimes annoying shortcomings. Let's take a closer look:
The Good And Beautiful Side Of Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone:
- First off, this Nokia phone boasts a great screen resolution.
- The QWERTY keyboard that it has is awesome. Typing in it is very easy. I also own a Blackberry Curve and the Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone's keyboard is better by a mile!
- The reception of the phone is very good. I never had any issues with it...none whatsoever. Matter of fact, I think I can get a stronger 3G signal with the Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone than with my IPhone 3G.
- The web browser is one of the best around. The iPhone browser, though, is obviously better since it has a bigger screen size and the touch user interface. HOWEVER, the Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone's is way better than Windows Mobile and Blackberry web browsers. For one thing, it can run and execute flash pages like Youtube, and other Flash oriented websites.
- When it comes to listening to music, I think this phone is quite ok. HOWEVER, it won't come close to the iPhone (which is built for music listening and media playing). If media is your primary criteria for picking a mobile phone model, you may find this a little disappointing. But I was able to transfer playlists from iTunes to my Nokia Desktop Software and sync the playlists with the phone.
- The external speakers of the phone produces a crisp sound too - and it's better than the external speakers of iPhone BUT it's not as good as the speakers of Blackberry bold. Listening through the headphones included in the package is also good. I was also able to browse the music - through play list, artist, album, and those are just to name a few.
These are just some of the niceties that the Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone has to offer. There are truckloads more BUT I'll leave it for you to discover!
Now let's get to the not-so-good side of this Nokia mobile phone...
Nokia E63-2 Unlocked Phone - The Cons
- I really find it annoying that there is no side volume toggle. This is especially true when I'm adjusting the volume while I'm listening to music and when I need to turn the ringer off when the phone is in my pocket.
- As for the user interface, I think it's a little outdated, too. It doesn't feel very user friendly. The menu, while extensive, could be an annoyance since you need a lot of clicks just to get something done.
- Last BUT not the least, it doesn't come with a USB data cable, memory card, as well as out of the box compatibilities for Micro Soft Office 2007 formats. Getting these upgrades cost me a total of $46!
