Palm Pre
The Palm Pre has been highly anticipated, but is it worth the wait? With an amazingly simple and compact look, how does the Palm Pre compare with the larger iPhone and Blackberry?

One of the first things that new buyers will notice about the Palm Pre is its size. It fits in one's hand, has an abnormally large screen for its size, and a slide out keyboard. The keyboard really isn't praiseworthy, being neither extremely comfortable nor big enough to type easily with. However the screen is a beauty. Having the same type of quality as competing phones, the big screen on the Palm Pre makes it just as functional as the big boys in the phone business. Also, a little area underneath the screen, called the gesture area, allows for users to make swipes with their hands in order to easily navigate the phone.

One important feature of the phone that makes it so big in the business is the OS. Palm Pre is one of the only phones with a custom built OS, called the WebOS. Along with a well-designed browser, the WebOS also features many apps built into the phone in the form of "cards". These cards are basically apps, and can be scrolled through in order to access the variety of features held within the phone, including Synergy and other amazing Palm technology. It can be easily said that the WebOS is an important, if not fundamental, element of the Palm Pre.

One great feature that many customers personally enjoy is the camera. The Palm Pre has a 3.2 Megapixel camera, which is actually really good for American phones. The average phone has a 1.3 MP or 2.0 MP camera. However, what's more important about the camera is the software which runs it. Unlike other phones, the Palm Pre camera backloads its images, meaning that there is no lag time for the picture to be taken. This makes the Palm Pre camera as good as any other camera.

Although the Palm Pre is small, it packs the punch of a much larger phone. With amazing features and a great OS, the Palm Pre is smart in both design and in function, and easily stacks up against its' competitors the iPhone 3GS and BlackBerry Tour.
