If you've never heard of a brand called "Pharos" - we don't blame you. Neither had we until the Pharos Traveler 619 unlocked mobile phone landed on our desks. This Wi-Fi capable mobile has a lot going for it (as we quickly found out) - so it's definitely worthwhile sharing the things we found with you - especially if you are looking to buy a new smart phone.

Phone Features
The Pharos Traveler 619 is a Windows based mobile (version 6.1) phone which has a huge number of tricks up its sleeve. Firstly, the keypad is a full QWERTY style, allowing you to literally type out emails and txt messages with ease. There are a number of navigation and function buttons above this keypad - and once you get used to these, the phone is extremely easy to get around.
Aside from the phone functions themselves, the device has a media player which is capable of playing many different formats. Also, because of the Windows operating system - well known Windows applications come as standard - including Microsoft Word and Excel.
As well as a dedicated email platform, this gives you unprecedented flexibility whilst you are on the road.
Camera & Storage
The camera on the Pharos Traveler 619 unlocked cell phone has a 2MP lens, and the phone itself allows for plenty of storage. However, if you are one of those people who love to watch movies on the go - you'll probably want to take advantage of the Micro SD slot so that you can extend that storage space.
Style
Because we've never laid our eyes on a Pharos phone before, we didn't really know what to think about the design of the device. After a lot of staring and glaring - we decided that the theme / style is a neutral one. It certainly isn't sloppy or tacky, but then again it's not exactly a magical design either.
The phone is thin enough, sleek enough, and different enough to be aesthetically pleasing, so unless you're trying to be uber-cool - this phone should do the trick.

Considering we have never seen a Pharos phone before in our lives, this first model is a pretty good example of what a smart phone should be. Running Windows Mobile 6.1 - it will probably immediately turn a whole lot of potential users off, but for the Microsoft faithful - the device is certainly no joke.
Price competitively in today's market, we believe that the Pharos Traveler 619 is worthy of 4 stars out of 5, and we would recommend it for both business and personal users alike.
